Lancaster, CA -- In a tightly contested Western State Conference South Division contest at Antelope Valley College, it was freshman Sydney Lujan who came through for the Owls. Lujan's unassisted strike 14 minutes into the contest was the difference maker in a 1-0 win for Citrus.

Wednesday's game didn't feature many offensive breakouts as the two teams combined for four shots in the first half. Of those four shots, both were on frame for the host Marauders, while Lujan's was the only one for Citrus. It ended up being all the Owls needed as her early goal was the only of the afternoon.

Freshman keeper Amber Henry was kept busy throughout the day as she came up with six saves, as all six of Antelope Valley's shots were on goal.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-4-3 overall and 3-1-2 in WSC South play. The Owls have a tough one coming up on Friday when they travel to first place College of the Canyons for a 4:00 PM showdown.
