Late Goal Submarines Owls in Santa Monica

Santa Monica, CA - With post season berths becoming a factor, the Citrus College Women's Soccer team played a crucial WSC South contest at Santa Monica College on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls kept the Corsairs off the board for all but the final five minutes in a 1-0 loss.

The Corsairs battered the Citrus defense from the jump rattling off a total of 16 shots on the afternoon, while Citrus managed just four. Freshman keeper Amber Henry was astounding in goal stopping 15 shots. The lone shot to get past her, came in the 85th minute. 

With the loss, Citrus drops to 8-5-4 overall and 6-2-3 in WSC South play. The Owls will close out their regular season road schedule on Thursday with a trip to second place LA Valley College.
