Sophomore Jaline "Cookie" Miranda scored her first of the season and the fifth and final goal of the game in the Owls' 5-0 win over West LA.

Glendora, CA – After scoring just five total goals through their first five games of the season, the Citrus College Women's Soccer team matched that total in just one contest on Friday afternoon. The Owls brought an onslaught of goals, in their 5-0 victory over visiting West Los Angeles College.

The match got off on the right foot when freshman Jacqueline Mejia scored her third of the season off a pass from freshman Danielle Lagrave just six minutes into the action. Mejia added another in the 27th minute, when she got a pass from freshman Alejandra Vargas that helped her put the ball in the back of the net to give Citrus a 2-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Citrus kept pounding the ball, and got another score in the 58th minute. This time it was Lagrave who did the honors, scoring her second of the year. In the 64th minute, sophomore Sidney Lujan would score her first goal of the season when freshman Yasmine Ramirez bent a perfect corner kick into the box. The ball found the crown of Lujan's head, and Lujan pounded it home to make it 4-0. Sophomore Jaline Miranda would score the fifth and final goal of the game on the day, scoring her first of the year in the 81st minute.

With the win, Citrus improves to 3-3 on the year. The Owls will be home once again on Tuesday evening when they host Oxnard College at 6:00 PM. Citrus played the Condors two and a half weeks ago, recording a 1-0 victory in Oxnard.
