Freshman Jacqueline Mejia scored two more goals in Tuesday's win over Oxnard.

Glendora, CA – Freshman forward Jacqueline Mejia scored twice, and the Citrus College Women's Soccer team shutout the visiting Oxnard College Condors. The Owls five combined saves from sophomore Britni Armas and Amber Henry who split time in goal, in their 2-0 win.

Mejia put the Owls on top nearly right away. With the clock have just rolled past the three minute mark, Mejia got the ball at the top of the box, whipped around and fired a rocket to the top shelf of the goal. Mejia would strike again 24 minutes later when her shot deflected off a Condor defensive player and made its way into the back of the net.

The two scores would be more than enough for Citrus, who went on to out-shoot Oxnard 12-8 on the game. Despite outshooting Oxnard by four, the Condors we're much more accurate, as they framed five of their eight shots on goal, while Citrus framed five of their 12 shots on the net. Luckily for Citrus their shots found the back of the net.

With the win, Citrus improves to 4-3 on the year. The Owls will be back inside Citrus College Stadium on Friday afternoon for a 3:00 PM showdown with Mt. San Antonio College.
