Santa Clarita, CA - After spending the first 78 minutes of Friday afternoon's Western State Conference East Division game at College of the Canyons, fending off shot after shot, the Citrus College Women's Soccer team's defense was finally broken late, giving up two scores in the final 12 minutes of action in a 2-0 loss to the Cougars.

 Canyons controlled the tempo of the match from the jump, holding the Owls to one shot in the first half and two in the entire match, while taking a total of 27 including 17 in the first half. Still Citrus performed admirably enough against the onslaught, finding a way to keep the first 23 shots taken towards them out of the back of the net. Sophomore keeper Amber Henry deflected 10 of the 12 shots she faced, but couldn't stay perfect despite her best efforts.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 9-7 overall and 2-1 in WSC East action. The Owls will be back home on Tuesday afternoon when they have a chance to get back on track against Victor Valley College. First touch is set for 2:00 PM inside Citrus College Stadium.
