Glendora, CA - After suffering just their second WSC East loss of their 2016 campaign, the Citrus College Women's Soccer team got back on track on Friday afternoon with a 2-0 win over visiting Antelope Valley College. The Owls controlled the tempo of the match throughout and used two early goals to get the win.

Citrus's first goal came in the 17th minute after three straight corners were taken by the Owls. The first two made it's way into the box without much commotion, but the third found the head of sophomore Sydney Lujan who pounded home her third of the year. Nine minutes later, freshman Devyn Bagwell would feed the feet of freshman Alejandra Vargas who put it past the Marauder keeper for all the advantage Citrus ever needed.

The Owls held Antelope Valley to just five total shots on the afternoon, including only three shots on goal. Sophomore keeper Britni Armas was more than game, stopping all three shots that came her way for her second shutout of the year.

Citrus will close out their 2016 home schedule on Tuesday afternoon when they host WSC East leading College of the Canyons. The match is set for a 1:00 PM start.
