Santa Barbara, CA - The Citrus College Women's Soccer team's fourth appearance in the playoffs in the last five years came to an end in the first round on Thursday evening. The Owls were bounced out of the post-season by Santa Barbara City College 4-0.

The Owls managed just one total shot in the first 45 minutes, compared with eight taken by Santa Barbara. The Owls did muster a pair of corner kicks in that first frame, but Citrus failed to make anything happen with them. Santa Barbara meanwhile scored in the 20th and 34th minutes to run out to a 2-0 lead at the break.

In the second half, Citrus found a better offensive rhythm, holding the Vaqueros to one fewer shot, while managing to rattle off four of their own. After giving up eight first half corners, Citrus kept Santa Barbara to one corner in the final 45 minutes, but like the first half, the Owls didn't get anything to come of their two corner kick attempts. The same could be said of their four attempts on the half, despite framing two of them up on goal, the Owls couldn't sneak one past the SBCC keeper. The Vaqueros did just that, scoring twice more, in the 58th and 73rd minute respectively.

With the loss, Citrus' season comes to an end with a 11-9-1 mark.
