The Citrus Women's Soccer team narrowly lost a hotly contested clash with the Victor Valley Rams this Friday, as part two of a Citrus Soccer home doubleheader. Citrus held off the Rams' pestering offense for most of the match, but the Rams' goal in the 25th minute of the first half would stand as the match's only goal.

Citrus saw another strong defensive performance by goalie Olivia Handy, who notched 7 saves on the day, stopping several key shots that kept the Owls close behind Victor Valley throughout the match. The Owl offense struggled to ignite, but nonetheless put together some great runs at the Rams goal that kept them on their heels, narrowly missing a key opportunity late in the second half inside the Rams' 6 yard box. Citrus saw consistent ball control and leadership from midfielder Mackenzie Bouleware, who is the Owls' assist leader on the year and keystone to the Owls offense.

The Fighting Owls take to the pitch again next Friday at home against Bakersfield for its last home conference game of the season.
