Canyons Completes Comeback Over Citrus

Citrus College couldn't hold off a comeback attempt from the College of the Canyons, dropping a 2-1 loss.

The Owls slip to 10-5-4 overall, 5-3-3 in the Western State Conference-South. The Cougars improve to 13-4-1, 10-1-1.

Elisa Salas put the Owls on the board first, capitalizing in the fifth minute of action. Kaylee Sanchez played in a deep ball to the far post, drawing the Cougar goalkeeper off her line to try to dive for the ball. She couldn't get a hand on it, however, allowing Salas to easily tap it home.

Citrus kept pushing but couldn't seem to find the back of the net, while Canyons clawed its way back into the game with a goal in the 77th minute.

Less than five minutes before the final whistle blew, the Cougars struck again to walk away with the 2-1 win.

The Owls close out the season at home on Friday, hosting West LA at 3:00 p.m.
