Owls Battle Until the End

Looking to advance out of the first round of the CCCAA SoCal Regional for the first time, 13^th-seeded Citrus College battled for over 90 minutes but fell in the final minute to fourth-seeded Mt. San Antonio College 1-0.

The Owls cap the year with an 11-6-4 overall record.

Ashley Virgen gave the Owls another good look in the 86^th minute, firing a shot from 35 yards out on frame, but the Mountie goalkeeper got her hands on it to keep it out of the net.

In the final minute of action, Mt. SAC had a clear chance at the goal, but Deziree Valdez came up big to save the shot. In the ensuing battle for the ball, the Mounties were awarded a penalty kick.

Once again, Valdez got her fingers on the PK attempt, but after a chaotic scramble in the box, Mt. SAC managed to get it in to take a 1-0 lead.

There wasn't enough time for the Owls to find an equalizer, falling 1-0 to the Mounties.
