#12 Citrus Shuts Out Canyons to Take Top Spot in Conference

No. 12-ranked Citrus College grabbed a big 1-0 victory over the College of the Canyons to move into sole possession of first place in the Western State Conference-South standings.

The Owls improve to 11-1-0 overall and keep their perfect 5-0-0 conference mark, while the Cougars drop to 7-3-1 on the year and 4-1-0 in WSC-South action.

Alaissa Morales provided the late heroics, scoring the game-winner in the 78th minute off an assist from Jayme Beatty.

Maddy Moris came up big in between the posts for the Owls, making nine saves to preserve the Owls' 10th shutout of the year.

Citrus is back in action at home on Friday, hosting Santa Monica at 3 p.m.
