No. 14-ranked Citrus College grabbed a 4-2 victory over LA Valley to remain in the hunt for the Western State Conference-South championship.

The Owls improve to 13-3-1 overall and 7-2-1 in conference. The Monarchs drop to 1-13-2 on the year and 1-8 in conference.

Abigail Salvador struck first for the Owls with a goal in the 22nd minute off a Jayme Beatty assist.

LA Valley equalized in the 30th minute, but five minutes later Alaissa Morales found the back of the net off a Kaylee Sanchez assist to give Citrus a 2-1 lead at halftime.

The Monarchs struck first in the second half to once again even things up, but back-to-back goals from Beatty sealed the victory for Citrus.

The Owls remain at home to host Glendale College on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
