A penalty kick in the 89th minute cost Citrus College a 2-1 loss to Santa Monica College Tuesday night to spoil Sophomore Night for the Owls.
Citrus drops to 9-5-5 overall and 7-2-4 in Western State Conference-South action. The Corsairs improved to 11-3-6 on the year and 10-1-2 in conference to stay in the hunt for the WSC title.
Maddy Moris scored her fourth penalty kick of the year in the 40th minute to put the Owls on the board first.
The Corsairs equalized in the 54th minute and drew the PK less than 90 seconds before time expired to take the game.
Citrus closes out the season on Thursday at Antelope Valley College at 4 p.m.
