Owl Assistant Coach Honored at Saluting Our Veterans Event
Citrus College Women's Soccer Assistant Coach Steve Jimenez was honored last week at the 18th Annual Saluting Our Veterans event on campus.
Jimenez played college soccer for the United States Army and then served for 15 years in the Army, reaching the ranks of Master Sergeant. He is also the recipient of the Purple Heart medal.
During his time in the military, Jimenez served honorable active duty in Fort Stewart in Georgia before being deployed to the Middle East where he served four tours to Iraq and one to Afghanistan.
Jimenez was the first of his family to serve in the military, with two of his siblings later following his footsteps.
