Seven Owls Pick Up All-WSC Honors

After taking third in the Western State Conference-South standings, Citrus College saw seven Owls grab all-conference honors. Maddy Moris, Dianna Garcia and Jayme Beatty each picked up first-team recognition; Megan Sewell and Emily Cherry earned second-team honors; and Stevie Spencer and Samantha Casas were named honorable mention.

Moris finished the year with 92 saves in over 1400 minutes between the posts for the Owls. She grabbed four wins and three shutouts on the year and boasted an 81.4 save percentage and a 1.34 goals against average. Moris also scored four penalty kicks on the year with a perfect 4-for-4 mark.

Garcia led the Owls with 14 goals (second in the conference) and 12 assists (first in the WSC-South) on the year. She scored four game-winning goals and boasted a 53.2 shots-on-goal percentage.

Beatty was second on the team with 11 goals and eight assists. She scored two game-winning goals and boasted a 56.7 shots-on-goal percentage.

Sewell was a key member of the Owl backline, helping Citrus boast a 1.28 goals against average on the year. She also got into the attack and scored one goal on the year.

Cherry was a key fixture in the Owl midfield, starting all 20 games for the Owls. She scored four times and assisted on four others.

Spencer helped lock down the Citrus defense, starting all 20 games in the backline for the Owls. She also got into the attack and assisted four times and took four shots as a defender.

Casas finished the year with five goals and one assist for 11 points. Of her 34 shots, 21 were on frame to boast a 61.8 shots-on-goal percentage.
