Seven Owls Earn All-WSC Honors

After the Owls placed third in the Western State Conference-South and made the regional playoffs, seven Citrus College Women's Soccer athletes earned all-conference honors. Megan Sewell, Stevie Spencer, and Emily Cherry were named to the first team; Bridget Ward and Sarah Nelson earned second team honors; and Liliana Miramontes and Alexia Leon were named honorable mention. 

After earning second team honors in 2023, both Emily Cherry and Megan Sewell picked up first team recognition this season. 

Cherry started in all 20 games for the Owls, scoring one goal and recording 10 assists while taking 31 shots with a 54.8 shots-on-goal percentage. 

Sewell, the Owls' center back, also started in all 20 games for the Owls, scoring two goals and making timely defensive stops all season. 

Stevie Spencer, who was named honorable mention in 2023, appeared in 19 games for the Owls this season and was a key contributor to the Owls defense that posted nine shutouts on the year. 

Bridget Ward earned second team honors after starting in 19 games for the Owls, scoring eight goals with one assist. Ward took 42 shots with 21 of them being on goal. 

Nelson, first-year attacker, appeared in 16 games for the Owls this season, scoring five goals and assisting on four goals. Nelson had 38 shots with a 65.8 shots-on-goal percentage. 

Miramontes, the starting goalkeeper for the Owls played in 19 games with 1,665 minutes in goal. Miramontes recorded 84 saves with an 84.8 save percentage and eight shutouts on the year. 

Leon, a first-year forward, appeared in 20 games for the Owls this season, scoring six goals and assisting on one goal. Leon had a 52.6 shots-on-goal percentage on her 19 shots this season.
