Owls Season Continues at WSC #3

Valley Glen, CA - The Citrus College Women's Swim team continued their 2016 conference slate over the weekend when they went head to head with College of the Canyons, Los Angeles Pierce College, Los Angeles Valley College, and Santa Monica College on the campus of LA Valley.

The day started out with the 400 Medley Relay with freshman Marissa Kasnetsis handling the backstroke, freshman Rebecca Alejo the breast stroke, sophomore Hailey Bickett the fly, and freshman Sabrina Fregoso the freestyle. The Owls finished in fourth place with a time of 5:07.90.

The next event for Citrus was the 200 Free, where Fregoso (2:24.00), just edged Bickett (2:30.56). In the 50 Free, freshman Gabriella Galbraith came in 5th place overall with a time of 29.89, while sophomore Katelyn Rivas followed that up with a 4th place finish in the grueling 400 IM posting a time of 6:11.70.

Kasnetsis would go on to have the highest Owl individual finish of the day in the 200 Fly, coming in 3rd place with a time of 2:56.08, while Bickett came in two spots behind her with a time of 3:05.46. Fregoso would post another strong freestyle finish in the 100 Free, coming fifth with a time of 1:04.52. Unfortunately for the Owls that was the last event they would pick up points, as they failed to secure any points in the final four events.

The Owls will take a break from conference action this coming weekend when they participate in the Pasadena Invitational which is set to begin at 12:30 PM on Friday.
