Swim Finishes Up Day #1 of 2016 WSC Championships

San Luis Obispo, CA - The Citrus College Swim team finished up the first day of competition at the 2016 Western State Conference Championships. Freshman Marissa Kasnetsis highlighted the day's events bringing home the top individual place and time in an individual event.

The finals started off in the evening with the 200 Free Relay. Freshman Priscilla Camara, Gabriella Galbraith, Sabrina Fregoso and Kasnetsis teamed up to finish in 8th place with a time of 1:57.43. Two events later, Kasnetsis put forth a strong showing in the 200 IM, coming in 7th place overall with a time of 2:36.21. Sophomore Cassidy Miller finished 11th in the event, with a time of 2:38.66.

In the largest event of the evening, the 50 Free, Citrus had two top 25 finishers. Galbraith finished 21st overall with a time of 29.40, while Camara was 23rd with a time of 29.93. The evening wrapped up moments later in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, with Kasnetsis, Miller, Fregoso, and sophomore Carly Cassilas coming in 8th Place with a time of 4:46.73.

The Owls will continue the three-day championship on Friday with the 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, as well as the 200 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay.
