San Luis Obispo, CA - The Citrus College Women's Swim team continued their participation in the 2016 Western State Conference Championships on Friday evening for the second day of competition. The Owls had their strongest showing to date, picking up points in all eight events held on the day.

The Owls opened things up with freshman Sabrina Fregoso's performance in the 200 Free. Fregoso finished in 16th place overall, posting a time of 2:20.05. Sophomore Carly Casillas would follow that up with a 16th place finish in the 100 Back, posting a time of 1:18.15.

Next was the 100 Breast where sophomore Cassidy Miller finished in 7th place overall posting a time of 1:16.84. Sophomore Delaney Moller also earned points for the Owls in that event, finishing in 16th place with a time of 1:22.26. In the 100 Fly, it was sophomore Hailey Bickett leading the charge with a 12th place finish and time of 1:17.11. Freshman Alyssa Mecozzi wasn't far behind, touching the side in 14th place with a time of 1:20.89.

In the grueling 400 IM, it was freshman Marissa Kasnetsis with the top time, posting a time of 5:35.05, shaving 12 seconds off her prelim time, and coming in 10th place. Sophomore Katelyn Rivas came in 13th place in the event, posting a time of 6:10.37.

All that was left for the Owls were the relays. In the 800 Free Relay, Fregoso, Bickett, Rivas and freshman Gabriella Galbraith teamed up to finish 7th place with a time of 9:37.82. Citrus would close out the evening in the 200 Medley Relay, as Miller, Bickett, Galbraith, and Casillas posted a time of 2:12.80, good enough for 9th place.

The weekend will conclude tomorrow with the 200 Back, 100 Free, 200 Breast, 200 Fly, 1650 Free, and the 400 Free Relay. Prelims are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, with the finals set to kick-off at 4:00 PM.
