Final Tune-Up for Owls Before WSC Finals

Citrus College competed at the Riverside City College Invitational on Friday as one last tune-up before Western State Conference Finals April 21-23.

Teghan Miller highlighted the meet with three top-three finishes, including a runner-up finish in the 50-yard free. She touched the wall in 26.77 seconds, her fastest time of the season. Sey Currie also finished in the top-10, taking eighth in 28.75 seconds. Gabby Orozco finished the race in 29.97 seconds.

Miller took third in the 100-yard free and the 500-yard free, with respective times of 59.89 seconds and 5:53.95. Currie touched the wall in 1:04.76 in the 100 free to just sit outside the top-10.

Izaiah Salinas had a solid finish in the men's 200-yard backstroke, taking sixth with a time of 2:26.84. He also had a top-10 placement in the 100-yard back, clocking in at 1:07.61.

Orozco also posted an 11th-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:30.88.

Julian Nichols took seventh in the 200 free with a time of 1:54.13 and was just outside the top-10 in the 100-yard free at 50.84 seconds. He clocked in at 23.25 in the 50-yard free as well.

Stephanie Azizeh clocked in at 3:12.16 in the 200-yard back and 1:29.46 in the 100 back. Johnathan Reyes finished the 500 free in 5:55.06 and Matteo Velasquez touched the wall in 2:40.62 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
