Owls Compete at WSC #1
Citrus College competed at the first Western State Conference meet of the year Friday.
In one of the longest events of the day, Sierra Beltran took fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 21 minutes, 54.75 seconds. Charly Figueroa followed in 22:08.63.
Andrea Hayler and Delaney Latham finished in the top 10 of the 50-yard free with times of 28.18 seconds and 29.31, respectively. Latham also won her heat of the 100 free (1:05.84).
In the 100-yard backstroke, Genesis Moradel posted a time of 1:16.21 to take third overall, while Bella Scott took fourth in 1:23.49.
Isabella Romero posted a time of 2:27.13 in the 200 free, which was the best time in her heat.
On the men's side, the 200-yard medley relay got things going with a time of 1:55.49 to take fifth.
Jullian Nichols grabbed a sixth-place finish in the 50 free, touching the wall in 23.32 seconds. He took third in the 100 free with a time of 51.70 seconds.
Rolan Solis won his heat in the 100-yard fly, clocking in at 1:04.62. Logan Haberle finished his heat in 1:04.96.
Matteo Velasquez finished in the top 10 of the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.32, while Johnathan Reyes posted a 24:48.94 time in the 1650 free.
The Owls are back in action at the Mt. SAC Invite next Friday.
