Volleyball Gets Road Win

Glendale, CA (Volleyball) -- The Citrus College Volleyball team picked up their first road win in their last three tries on Friday evenings as they swept conference foe Glendale College. It was also the first sweep for Citrus in the last three weeks.

Glendale would hang around with the 15th ranked team in the State in the first set, but the Owls pulled away 25-20. In the second set, Citrus kept the momentum on their side with a 25-17 win. In the third it was all Owls as they cruised to a 25-11 victory.

Freshman Amanda Stone led the Citrus superlatives with 33 assists. Sophomore Kim Collins recorded a team high 12 kills, while freshman Makoto Toyama and sophomore Alexis Lunney each dug up a team high eight balls.

With the win, Citrus improves to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in Western State Conference South Division play. The Owls will be back at home starting this Wednesday for the start of an unprecedented four match home stand. The stand kicks off against Santa Monica College. The match is set for a 7:00 PM start.
