The Volleyball Blog: Goals

Throughout Citrus College Volleyball's post-season run, sophomore libero Kiyhanna Dade will be blogging for the CitrusOwls.com. Today's installment is the first of the series.

At the beginning of the season, we had two goals. One was to win conference, and the second one was to make it to playoffs. Although we did not reach the first goal, it is over with. It's on to the second goal, which we reached. Now we have a new third goal, to win our first playoff game and move on to the second round.  The way I see it, every game we played in conference was just pre-season and preparation. Playoffs are where everything is applied. Tuesday is when the season starts with a clean slate and a 0-0 record. Making playoffs is such a big accomplishment to me, and being a part of a team who has the desire and ability to go all the way is amazing.

Having only one practice before our big game is unpleasant and my teammates and I all know tomorrow's practice is crucial from start to finish. We have a lot to work on and I expect my teammates and I to come into practice with the will to learn, and the desire to want to give our opponent our all. Tomorrow I expect everyone to leave the gym after practice feeling ready and mentally and physically prepared for Tuesday's big match.
