Volleyball Gets Six on All-WSC South Team

Glendora, CA -- After their second straight trip to the CCCAA post-season the Citrus College Volleyball team was rewarded for their strong season with six members on the All-Western State Conference South Division team. The Owls got two players on each of the first, second, and honorable mention lists.

On the 1st team were sophomore middle blocker Kayla Eddings and freshman outside hitter Danielle Hundley. Eddings is a repeat first teamer after earning 1st team honors as a freshman in 2012. Eddings was a rock for the Owls in 2013, recording 214 kills, 238 digs, and 43 blocks. Eddings also led all hitters with a .307 kill percentage on the year. Hundley meanwhile had an outstanding first season with Citrus. Hundley led the Owls with 265 kills averaging 3.63 kills per set, and a team leading 3.8 points generated per set.

On the 2nd team were sophomore libero Kiyahnna Dade and freshman middle blocker Cassandra Freitag. Dade led the Owls in digs in 2013, with 294 digs on the year and a 3.82 digs per set average. Dade also added 18 aces. Freitag meanwhile had an impressive freshman campaign, recording 150 kills with a .278 kill percentage, and a team leading 67 blocks. Freitag also was second on the team with 29 aces.

Rounding out the honors were sophomore outside hitter Ana Bui and sophomore setter Amanda Stone, who were both All-WSC South Honorable Mention selections. Bui was second on the team with 235 kills and third with 20 aces. Stone handed out 651 assists, was third on the team with 219 digs, and added 18 aces for good measure.
