Sylmar, CA -- The Citrus College Volleyball team got on the board on Friday evening with a three sets to one win over host LA Mission College. The Owls didn't have an easy go of it though, winning 25-22, 23-25, 25-18, and 25-22.

Sophomore Kyla White picked up where she left off after Wednesday night's performance against Cypress. White had 17 kills and 17 digs. Sophomore Alyssa Tarango had a strong debut for the Owls, Friday, with nine kills, while freshman Leanna D'Aquila added three solo blocks and five kills. Freshman setter Kristen Fox continued to impress with 25 assists and six aces on the night. On the digs side of things, freshman Jacqueline Medina chipped in with 13 digs, while sophomore Kaylee Johnson and freshman Amy Wilcox each added 10.

With the win, Citrus improves to 1-1 on the year. The Owls' road doesn't get any easier as they go on to face perennially tough teams in Los Angeles Pierce College and Santa Barbara City College on Saturday at the LA Pierce Quad. Citrus starts their day off against Pierce at 1:00 PM.
