Woodland Hills, CA — The Citrus College Volleyball team didn't have their best day on Saturday when they took part in the LA Pierce College Quad. The Owls stumbled in a pair of sweeps, losing to the day's host and Santa Barbara City College.

Not much went right from the get go for the Owls, as Citrus committed more hitting errors than it had kills in their match with LA Pierce. The Owls posted a -.048 kill percentage, after earning just 15 kills, while committing a total of 18 errors.

Citrus kept it close early, dropping the first set 25-20, and an even closer 25-22 in the second set. Things fell apart for good though in the third as the Owls lost 25-14. Sophomore Kyla White had a team high 11 digs in the loss, while freshman Kristen Fox had 14 assists.

In the second match the Owls did end up with a positive kill percentage, but not by much. Citrus didn't keep things as close in this match either, as they fell 16, 12, and 14. Sophomore Cassandra Freitag had a team high five kills, while freshman LeAna D'Aquila had four.

With the two losses, Citrus drops to 1-3 on the year. The Owls will start to try and right the ship on Wednesday evening when they host Mt. San Antonio College at 5:00 PM.
