Glendora, CA — The Citrus College Volleyball team was handed it fourth straight sweep on Friday afternoon when they played host to State #23 Orange Coast College. The Owls had very little fight on the day losing 25-10, 25-16, and 25-13.

The Pirates took hold of the match early and never really looked back. Orange Coast scored seven of the first eight points of the first set and Citrus never got closer than six points. In the second set, the Owls were able to slow the bleeding a little, but an 8-3 run by the Pirates to start the set was hard to overcome. The Owls were within four at 14-10, but OCC scored the next four and cruised to a second set victory. The third set played out like the second with the Pirates scoring eight of the first eleven and Citrus never really having an opportunity to get into the set let alone match.

In the loss, Citrus was led by Kaylee Johnson's team high six kills. Freshman Samantha Jape added five. Freshman Jacqueline Medina had a team high seven digs, while freshman Kristen Fox handed out 15 assists.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 3-7 overall. The Owls will host Ventura College on Wednesday at 6:00 PM.
