Bakersfield, CA -- The Citrus College Volleyball team hit the road on Friday afternoon for their annual trip up the 5 Freeway to the 99 to take on Bakersfield College. Citrus showed promise in a few sets, but ultimately fell in four 17-25, 25-17, 15-25, and 24-26.

The first set played out awfully for Citrus, with the Owls committing 10 errors on 30 attack attempts with just seven kills. After the rough first set though, Citrus bounced back with a eight point victory in set #2, while posting a team kill percentage of .333. Things went back downhill shortly thereafter with the Owls posting a .077 and .138 kill percentages in each of the third and fourth sets as they were handed their second straight loss.

In the loss, sophomore Kyla White had a team high 13 kills. Sophomores Cassandra Freitag and Kaylee Johnson added nine each, while Freitag also had a pair of solo blocks and an assist block. Freshman setter Kristen Fox finished out the night with 33 assists, four kills, 13 digs, and an assist block.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 4-11 overall and 1-3 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back at home on Wednesday when they host Antelope Valley College for a 6:00 PM meeting inside the Owls' Nest.
