No Upset for Owls Who Fall in Four

Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Volleyball team got things off to a great start on Friday night in Santa Monica against the 17th ranked Corsairs. They didn't end so well though as they fell in four sets 25-23, 18-25, 15-25, and 21-25.

The Owls came rushing out of the gate posting a .290 kill percentage, and winning by two. Things went downhill shortly thereafter though, with a -.083 and -.087 kill percentages in sets two and three losing by seven and ten. In the fourth, Citrus rebounded with a .226 kill percentage, but they ultimately fell by four.

In the loss, Citrus was paced by sophomore Cassandra Freitag's team high nine kills. Sophomore Kyla White added eight kills and had a team high nine kills. Freshman Kristen Fox handed out 32 assists, five digs, and an ace.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 7-13 overall and 4-5 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back home on Wednesday when they host Bakersfield College at 6:00 PM.
