Volleyball Has Five Owls Named All-Conference

Glendora, CA -- With their 2014 campaign at a close, the Citrus College Volleyball program had five individuals recognized for their play throughout the season. Sophomores Kyla White and Cassandra Freitag were both 1st team All-WSC South selections, while freshman Kristen Fox was a 2nd team selection. Sophomore Kaylee Johnson and freshman Samantha Jape were both named Honorable Mention selections.

White led the Owls during her sophomore campaign in kills (211) and digs (200). She averaged 3.64 kills per set and 3.45 digs per set, with her kills per set mark being the fourth best in the entire Western State Conference. Freitag meanwhile was second on the team in kills (165), second in total blocks (39), and second in service aces (18). Her .244 kill percentage led the Owls and was the 10th best in the WSC.

Fox had a strong freshman debut with 556 assists (7.72 per set), and a team leading 33 assists. Fox also came up with 129 digs. Her assists per set mark was the 9th best in the Western State Conference. Johnson capped off her Citrus career by compiling 101 kills and 148 digs, both the third best mark on the team. Jape meanwhile got her career off to a good start with 88 kills and a team leading 46 blocks.
