Moorpark, CA -- For the second time this season the Citrus College Volleyball program took on a good Moorpark College team. This time though, instead of facing the Raiders on a neutral floor, the Owls travelled to Moorpark to take on the Raiders on their home floor. The end result was all a little familiar though as Citrus once again fell in straight sets, 12-25, 24-26, and 22-25.

Despite the slow start in the first set, the Owls did put up a better fight in the second and third. Still, Citrus once again came up short. Citrus' best team kill percentage came in that battle of a second set, with the Owls posting a team .231 kill percentage. That was compared with a .034 effort in the first and a .111 effort in the third.

On the floor, Citrus sophomore Amy Wilcox finally had a breakthrough game, pounding home a team high 11 kills against just three errors. Freshman Briana Olvera added eight more, while sophomore Samantha Jape had five, but unusually struggled with six errors. Sophomore setter Kristen Fox handed out a team high 18 assists, and sophomore libero Jacqueline Medina rounded out the superlatives with 16 digs.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 3-8 on the season. Luckily for the Owls, they can put a rough pre-conference record behind them as they kickoff Western State Conference South Division play, beginning on Friday when they host West Los Angeles College at 6:00 PM.
