Owls Sweep West LA for Third Conference Win

Culver City, CA - The Citrus College Volleyball team picked up their third conference win on Wednesday evening when they travelled to West Los Angeles College. The Owls cruised on the night winning 25-19, 25-13, 25-19. 

The Owls put together arguably their best total kill percentages of the season in the match. The Owls opened up with a .156 clip in the first set, before posting a .545 kill percentage in the second. In the third, Citrus evened things out with a .333 kill percentage, ending the night with a bang.

In the win, Citrus was paced by sophomore Samantha Jape who had 13 kills on 18 attempts with just one error. Jape also threw in a pair of solo blocks for good measure. Sophomore LeAna D'Aquila was strong with eight kills, while freshman Zhari Johnson came up with a match high 15 kills. Sophomore setter Kristen Fox rounded out the night with 32 assists. 

With the win, Citrus improves to 6-12 overall and 3-4 in WSC South play. The Owls will take Friday night off before resuming the second half of conference play on Wednesday at first place College of the Canyons at 6:00 PM.
