Glendora, CA - Earlier this year when the citrus College Women's Volleyball program traveled to Glendale College for a Western State Conference showdown the Owls won the first two sets before falling in five. It was nearly repeat history on Friday night, as Citrus won the first and fourth sets before losing a heartbreaker in five sets.

Citrus started off the night well enough, coming out aggressive and taking the first set 25 to 20. Things quickly went downhill though in the second set as of the Vaqueros ran away with a 25-19 victory. The Owls battle back in the third set before losing 25 to 23. Citrus made one final attempt in the fourth set needing extra points to pick up a 26-24 win.

In The fifth and final set, what had plagued the Owls all night continued to come back and haunt them as Citrus fell 15-12. In the end the Owls couldn't overcome committing 20 more attack errors and six more service errors in the five set loss.

Freshman Briana Olvera led the team with 16 kills with sophomore Erin Murphy adding 13. Freshman Zhari Johnson had a team high 14 digs, while sophomore Kristen Fox had 30 assists.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 6-14 overall and 3-6 in WSC play. The Owls will be back home this Tuesday when they host to Santa Monica College at 6 PM.
