Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Volleyball team got to finish their 2015 campaign the right way on Wednesday night when they swept visiting Antelope Valley College. The Owls came out with a spirited effort defeating the Marauders 25-13, 25-22, and 25-17.

The Owls opened up the night with by scoring the first five points of the first set, getting kills from freshman Lauren Valenciana, Briana Olvera, and sophomore Samantha Jape in the process. Eventually Antelope Valley would settle in and keep it close for the first 11 points. That's when Citrus used a monster 7-1 run jumpstarted by a Jape kill that began to put the game out of reach for the Marauders.

In the second set, Antelope Valley put up it's best fight. The Marauders lead midway through at 15-14. The Owls would quickly turn the tables via a small 3-0 run that saw Citrus get kills from sophomore setter Kristen Fox and sophomore opposite hitter LeAna D'Aquila to make it 17-15. The Owls never gave the lead back. In the last set, the Marauders kept it close for the first 12 points and trail just 5-7. Citrus would go on a 9-2 run though and distance themselves earlier en route to the eight point win.

In the win, Jape led the way with a match high 11 kills, while Olvera had 10. Fox handed out 20 assists, and had 10 digs along with sophomores Amy Wilcox and Jacqueline Medina. With the win, Citrus' 2015 season ends with a 7-16 overall record and 4-8 mark in WSC South play.
