Lancaster, CA - The Citrus College Volleyball team got to experience what was a rare feeling for them on Monday evening when they travelled to Antelope Valley College. The Owls swept the host Marauders, putting together arguably their best performance of the year in a 31-29, 25-18, 25-19 victory. 

 The Owls came out of the gates firing, committing just three errors in a closely contested first set. The two teams battled past the regulation 25 points, until the Owls were able to overcome Antelope Valley 31-29. In the second set, Citrus controlled the tempo, posting a .440 kill percentage, while Antelope mustered a .037 clip. In the third, the Owls cruised to a six point victory, recording a .273 kill percentage, compared to a -.038 percentage for the Marauders. 

 Freshman middle blocker Briana Voght paced the Owls with a match high 15 kills, against just two errors, on 18 total attempts. Voght also notched a solo block and a pair of digs in the victory. Freshman Leah Price chipped in with nine kills, and eight digs, while sophomore Zhari Johnson and freshman Marissa Underwood each had a match high 10 digs, while freshman setter Patrisha Sangalang handed out a season and match high 43 assists. 

With the win, Citrus improves to 2-14 on the year. The Owls will be back out on the road on Wednesday when they travel to State #3 Santa Barbara City College. The match is set for a 6:00 PM start. ​
