Citrus Volleyball hosted Pierce College Wednesday for a WSC Conference duel that ultimately went to the Owls in 4 sets. Citrus picked up the win with scores of 25-13, 17-25, 25-15, 25-14. The win marks the 3rd conference win of the season for Citrus, as they now stand with a 3-2 mark, and are in the #3 spot behind Victor Valley and Santa Monica who are tied for the top spot.

Citrus came out of the gates in set 1 in full charge of the court. The Owls quickly dispatched the Brahmas and moved on to set 2. Pierce was able to take advantage of a lull in hitting for Citrus, as well as a burst of offense of their own in set 2 to take it 25-17. But the Owls quickly recovered from the setback and came out swinging, picking up sets 3 and 4 without too much trouble. The win for the Owls completes the season sweep of Pierce, a perennial conference contender and long time rival.

Outside hitter Gina Lipscomb led all hitters on the night with 24 kills, her first match with 20 or more this season, and a hitting percentage of .362. Lipscomb also added pair of blocks. Setter Julianna Aceituno led both teams in assists with 36, a season high for her. Outside hitter Alexsis Rodriguez scraped together 17 digs on the night, enough to beat her season best as well.

Citrus takes the hardwood against Victor Valley on Friday in the Owls Nest for a WSC Conference match. First serve is 6:00 PM.
