Women's Volleyball hosted LA Mission for a Southern California Regional match on Wednesday. The Owls took down the Eagles in 4 sets, 25-14, 25-14, 18-25, 25-20.

Citrus had come off a rough patch to start out 2019, going winless in its first 8 matches. But Wednesday was a different story, the Owls controlled the match most of the way, despite a small slip up in the 3rd set, which went the way of the Eagles. The two teams matched up well in most positions on the court, and the game play was well balanced throughout. But Citrus tapped into their grittiness and kept the pressure on throughout the match.

Outside hitter Nia Nix once again was the offensive force for the Owls, posting 18 kills on 42 attempts, and a .263 hitting percentage. Nix continued her habit of double doubles by chipping in 10 digs in the backcourt for her 4th dub of the season. Summer Edington records 8 kills on 24 swings, adding 4 digs to her stat line. Libero Aaliyah Robles led all players defensively with 16 digs. Setter Vanessa Warren dished out 32 assists, lipped 8 digs and notched pair of service aces.

Citrus improves to 1-8 in 2019 with a lot of season left to go. The Owls turn around and play Thursday at home against Chaffey. First serve is at 5:00 PM at Citrus.
