Citrus Volleyball picked up its 3rd win of 2019 on Wednesday in a home game against visiting Southern California Regional opponent San Bernardino Valley. The Owls swept the foothill rival in 3 sets, 25-12, 25-21, 25-13.

Citrus led the entire match except for a 2-1, short lived Wolverine lead in the 3rd set, but the Wolverines played the Owls tough, forcing timeouts and taking advantage of unforced Citrus errors. But the home team asserted itself offensively and proved to be too much to handle. Nia Nix once again led the Owls in offensive production, recording 22 kills and an impressive .410 hitting percentage. Although Nix saw the bulk of the sets for the Owls, the entire team contributed to the win. Setter Vanessa Warren posted 25 assists and a service ace in the outing. Defensively, Evelyn Enriquez, Aaliyah Roberts and Aubrey Cumad scooped up 9, 9 and 8 digs respectively.

The win improves the Owls to 3-9 on the season. Citrus will look to continue improving as conference play begins Friday in a home match against Western State Conference foe Santa Monica. First serve is in the Owl's Nest at 6:00.
