Citrus Opens WSC Action With Win

Citrus College opened Western State Conference action Friday and grabbed a 3-0 victory (25-23, 25-19, 25-11) over Antelope Valley College.

The Owls have now won two in a row and sit 6-6 on the year with a 1-0 conference mark.

Faith Evaro led the Owls with 13 kills with no errors to boast a .464 attack percentage, followed by Delaney Tate's 12 kills. Tate had a team-high 12 digs to post a double-double, while Desiree Reyes had 11 digs in the match. Maritza Sanchez finished with 29 assists.

Citrus returns home for a pair of matches next week, hosting Bakersfield College on Wednesday and Santa Monica College on Friday. Both matches are set to start at 6:00 p.m. in the Owls Nest.
