Four Owls Named to All-WSC Teams

Four Citrus College volleyball players were named to the All-Western State Conference teams.

Caren Stone earned first-team honors, Kalin Greene picked up second-team distinction and Sabrina Evangelista and Vanessa Marquez grabbed Honorable Mention. 

Stone had a solid freshman campaign, playing in 25 matches for the Owls. She finished the year averaging 2.38 kills per set, which ranks ninth in the WSC-South. Stone also had 53 aces, eight blocks on the year and averaged 2.63 digs per set.

Greene capped off her two-year career with the Owls with her second-straight All-WSC second-team honors. She finished the season with 181 kills (1.89 kills/set) and a team-high 33 blocks, including 11 solo efforts. 

Evangelista led the Owls offensively with 2.86 kills per set, which ranked fourth in the conference and 55th in the State. She also had nine blocks, 24 aces and 169 digs (2.22 digs per set) on the year.

Marquez fueled Citrus' offense as a freshman setter, starting all 26 matches. She finished with 786 assists, which sits second all-time since stats were kept in 1997. Marquez averaged 8.19 assists per set, which led the WSC-South and ranked 15th in the CCCAA. She also had 23 aces, 217 digs (2.26 digs per set), and 13 total blocks.
