Citrus Takes on Two Foes

Citrus College had another busy day with two matches in one day at the LA Mission Third Eagle Invitational on Wednesday. The Owls fell in three sets to LA Mission (25-10, 25-20, 25-23) and battled in a five-set defeat to Fullerton College (24-26, 25-23, 26-28, 25-23, 15-11).

The Owls slip to 1-9 on the year, while the Hornets improve to 1-8 and the Eagles sit at 8-6 overall.

Faith Evaro led the Owls with 24 kills on the day, with 19 against the Hornets on a .475 hitting clip in the second match, and added 21 digs over the two matches.

McKenna Cooper added 15 kills and had 18 digs defensively, while Desiree Reyes laid down 13 kills and had two blocks. Mychaela Ortiz posted 17 digs and Neesie Gonzalez added 15 digs.

Vanessa Marquez finished with 51 assists, including 30 against Fullerton.

The Owls continue their busy week with a match at Cuesta College on Friday before heading back to LA Mission on Saturday for another pair of games.
