Citrus Closes Conference On a High Note

Citrus College closed out its Western State Conference-South portion of the schedule with its fourth-straight win and second three-set sweep in a row. The Owls defeated West LA 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-16) to improve to 9-18 on the year and finish conference action at 6-6. The Wildcats drop to 5-7 overall and 1-11 in the WSC-South.

As a team, the Owls had a solid night hitting, including an impressive .412 attack percentage in the third.

Faith Evaro led Citrus with 10 kills in the match, while McKenna Cooper followed with seven and Desiree Reyes chipped in five kills. Raegen Johnson and Vanessa Marquez fueled the Owl offense, finishing with 16 and 12 assists, respectively.

Defensively, Isabel Luna led the Owls with 10 digs, while Danielle Erlandson had three blocks.

The Owls have one last match to play with a crossover match next Tuesday with an opponent still to be determined this weekend.
