Citrus College took on a familiar foe to cap its 2023 season and ended the year on a high note with a five-set victory over LA Mission (18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-17, 15-13).
The Owls picked up their fifth-straight win to finish the year at 10-18, avenging three earlier losses to the Eagles, who fall to 16-14 overall.
Citrus had a block party, out-blocking Mission 12-to-3. Tara Biscan had seven blocks on the night, including two solo efforts, while Julia Pitre posted seven block assists and Danielle Erlandson added five block assists.
Faith Evaro led the Owls with 16 kills and 22 digs, while Desiree Reyes had 12 kills and 11 digs. Mychaela Ortiz added 14 digs and Vanessa Marquez and Raegen Johnson shared setting responsibilities with Marquez finishing with 20 assists and Johnson adding 24 assists.
