The Citrus College Women's Volleyball team got a new season underway Friday night in an away game against Mt. San Antonio College.
Although the Owls lost in straight sets 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 25-22), they proved themselves as a tough opponent as they fall to 0-1 to start the season, while the Mounties start their season at 1-0.
Set one was close until Mt. SAC gained momentum and scored the final five points of the set to edge out the Owls 25-23. The Owls battled in the second set before losing 25-15. In the third set the Owls showed heart by going on point runs of four and five keeping the score close to the end before Mt.SAC closed out the game.
The Owls were led on the attack by Danielle Erlandson who had seven kills, Tara Biscan who earned five kills and Georgia Walls who had three kills.
Raegen Johnson led the Owls with 18 assists and three service aces while Isabel Luna earned eight digs.
The Owls have their home opener next Wednesday, August 28th as they take on Orange Coast College at 5 p.m.
