Volleyball Defeats West LA in Conference Game

Citrus College Volleyball picked up their second conference win of the season by defeating West LA College last night in straight sets (25-15, 25-23, 25-16).
Cirtus College improves to 3-11 on the season, 2-2 in conference games while West LA College falls to 2-10 on the season and 0-4 in conference games.
The Owls went down in the first set 5-0 but quickly turned things around by scoring five unanswered points to tie the game before they ran away with the set behind kills from Danielle Erlandson, McKenna Cooper, and Tara Biscan.
Set two was much closer as the Wildcats found a way to score points but with the score close in the end, McKenna Cooper earned a set-winning kill before West LA could tie the game. In the third and final set the Owls pulled away and looked to have their rhythm as they went on multiple scoring runs that the Wildcats could not answer.
Citrus College was led by McKenna Cooper's eight kills followed by Tara Biscan with seven kills and Aalyiah Astilla with six kills. Danielle Erlandson had five kills and a block assist. Isabel Luna recorded 15 digs, one assist and one service ace. Raegen Johnson led the Owls with 16 assists and added three service aces, one block assist and three digs. Lauren Wesley contributed three kills, three service aces and two digs in the win.
Citrus College will travel to Bakersfield College tomorrow night, Friday, October 18th for a conference matchup at 6 p.m.
