Owls Take Vaqueros to Five Sets
The Citrus College Women's Volleyball team hosted Glendale College in a conference game last night that resulted in the Owls losing in five sets (22-25, 21-25, 25-17, 26-24, 13-15).
Cirtus College moves to 3-13 on the season and 2-4 in conference games while Glendale College improves to 6-11 overall on the season and 3-3 in conference.
The Owls battled back after losing the first two sets by winning sets three and four, forcing a fifth set which was highly competitive. In the fifth set the Owls and Vaqueros went back and forth as there were 10 ties in the set all the way up until the last point that resulted in Glendale College pulling off the 15-13 set win to seal the game.
Citrus College was led by McKenna Cooper with 23 kills followed by Danielle Erlandson with seven kills while Tara Biscan and Lauren Wesley each recorded six kills. Raegen Johnson had a game-high with 37 assists, adding 13 digs and five service aces. Isabel Luna led the Owls with 17 digs followed by McKenna Cooper's 13 and Alexia Avalos' 11. Barbara Betancourt-Avina led the Owls with seven service aces.
Citrus College will travel to College of the Canyons this Friday, October 25th for a conference game at 6 p.m.
