San Diego, CA (Women's Water Polo) -- For the second straight day, the Citrus College Women's Water Polo team was forced into a split at the San Diego Tournament. The Owls opened up with a strong 10-7 win over Chaffey College, but fell in the finale to Grossmont College 14-7.

In the win, freshman Mandy Darafeev had five goals, while sophomore Meghan Turner added three. Freshman Lora Marquez-Solgado kept her defensive flow going with another six steals in the opening contest. Freshman goalie Yvette Torres rounded out the superlatives with 13 saves. In the second game, things weren't as bright for the Owls, Darafeev recorded three goals.

With the win and the loss, Citrus falls to 6-7 on the year. The Owls will be back in the water on Tuesday when they take on Ventura College at Ventura at 2:15 PM. It'll be the second meeting of the year between the two schools, as the Owls upset the Pirates 13-11 back on September 14th at the Chaffey Tournament.
