Pasadena, CA (Women's Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team had a double dip in the Pasadena Bowl Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The day turned out great for the Owls as they pounded out a pair of wins, 15-10 against Southwestern and 8-7 against the tournament's host Pasadena.

In the early contest, the Owls knocked off Southwestern by five. Freshman Mandy Darafeev poured in eight goals, while sophomore Meghan Turner pumped in four.

Against Pasadena, Citrus ran out to an early lead and held on in the fourth quarter. The Owls were up by as much as four goals in the fourth, but the Lancers nearly stormed back with three goals in the final three minutes. The Owls held on though, surviving with the one point win. Freshman goalie Yvette Torres stopped 11 shots, while Darfeev and Turner accounted for seven of the eight Citrus goals with four and three respectively.

With the two wins, Citrus improves to 8-10 overall. The Owls will be back at home this coming week as they host LA Valley College in a WSC meeting on Wednesday. The game is set for a 4:15 PM start time.
