Pasadena, CA (Women's Water Polo) -- It was a tough day for the Citrus College Women's Water Polo team in the opener of the 12th Annual Pasadena Bowl Tournament hosted by Pasadena City College. The Owls dropped both of their two contests, losing to Diablo Valley College 17-7 and then Orange Coast College 14-4.

In the loss to Diablo Valley, the Owls fell into an early 8-3 hole in the first half and never recovered. Freshman Candelaria Baca scored three goals and sophomore Meghan Turner added two. Freshman Jenna Cook had four steals in the loss while freshman Kendra New swiped three.

Against Orange Coast, the Owls struggled to put the ball past the Pirates' goalie. Citrus mustered just a season low four goals in the loss. Freshman Mackenzie Shinall, along with Droegemueller, Turner, and Mandy Darafeev all scored one goal apiece.

With the pair of losses Citrus falls to 6-10 on the year. The Owls will try and rally on Saturday when they open the day against Southwestern at 11:20 AM in Pasadena.
