Silva Named Olympic Development Program Regional Goalkeeper Coach

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College Head Women's Water Polo and Women's Swimming Coach Andrew Silva was recently named the USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program Regional Goalkeeper Coach. In that position, Silva will be responsible for evaluating and training goalies from across the country who are a part of the USA Water Polo's national development program.

"I feel very fortunate to have been selected by USA Water Polo for this coaching position.  Being part of the Olympic Development Program will give me the opportunity to work with this country's best water polo players and coaches," Silva said. "I'll be able to see first-hand the tactics and strategies being used by our highest level water polo programs, and bring those concepts back to the women's water polo team here at Citrus."

Silva serves as the Citrus College Aquatics Coordinator and is a member of the Full-Time Faculty in the Kinesiology Department. The 2013 seasons will be his first at the helm of the Owls' Women's Swimming and Water Polo programs. Silva was hired at Citrus College in the summer of 2012 to revive the Citrus College Women's Swim team and coordinate the aquatics on campus. The 2013 swim season, will be Citrus' first after a two year absence from the pool.
